“I want to run through the halls of my high school.

According to the 16 year old Amaryah who was already packing for college, I am to complete residency and be a practicing physician at 27. Married, children, white picket fence at 30. Private practice no later than 35 and retired at 55. That action plan has been discontinued. I used to have this solid idea of who I wanted to be when I grew up because I had a rigid idea of the “real world.” When I realized that the real world was artificial, I was able to acknowledge that the person I was trying to become was also. Although I am young, I can confidently say that my aspiration is to be Amaryah, professionally.
